Info Session: Feminist Business History (Fall ’23)

In this Info Session, I’ll tell you what’s planned for this Fall’s three-class course. I’ll describe our course goals, design, and scope. You’ll share your own goals, constraints, and interests, and we’ll see how to design these in.

I’m offering the Info Session on Tuesday, August 29, at two times: 4-5 pm ET and 8-9 pm ET.

I’ve redesigned the course into a more compact, three-session arc. I’ll do most of the “work” so you don’t have do. Reading will be encouraged, and also optional. Still, you’ll be able to participate as a co-learner and also shape our focus with your interests.

When I hosted a Feminist Business History Course last spring, we all learned so much.  And, every participant said they’d recommend the class to their feminist business friends. 

Many other folks told me they were interested, but they told me they needed something lighter, with less of a time/ work commitment.   They needed to know:

• What kind of work is expected? How much? Do I have time for this kind of learning?
• Will this course cover my own questions?
• Will the insights be practical – or even relevant– for my own feminist business?
• Will the material be too “white and middle class”?
• Could this learning feel feminist? Light? Fun?

A personal take-away — This class enriched my foundational knowledge of feminism. Yes, I thought a lot about how this history related to my own current business but also I learned so much about feminism itself.
